Krystina Jackson, MSW

Krystina Jackson, MSW has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Krystina currently works as a Community Organizing Coordinator at Grossman Solutions, where they are responsible for coordinating the #GetVaccinatedCT Campaign and organizing vaccination clinics and van sites. Krystina leads a team of community organizers in finding potential vaccination sites and works collaboratively with the Department of Health and Griffin Health to increase vaccination numbers in Connecticut.

Prior to this, Krystina worked as a Teacher at Common Ground High School for a short period of time. Krystina also served as a Policy Intern at the Office of CT State Rep. Toni E. Walker, where they worked on Cannabis Equity legislation and assisted Chair of Appropriations Committee.

Krystina gained valuable experience as a Policy Intern at the United Nations, where they actively participated in various committees and worked on analyzing and disaggregating data for a global survey on inequality. Krystina also served as a writer and editor for the IASSW Newsletter, engaging with civil society organizations.

Before their internship at the United Nations, Krystina worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Connecticut, where they managed data for federal grant-funded research projects focused on family drug courts and recovery enhancements. Krystina also served as a Policy Intern at the Center for International Social Work Studies, taking the lead on the 2019-2022 Strategic Plan and coordinating events on refugees and migration.

Krystina's experience also includes working as a Criminal Justice Organizing & Policy Intern at the ACLU, where they attended public hearings, collaborated with stakeholders, and contributed to the creation of a legislative agenda on decreasing barriers for individuals reentering society.

Krystina began their career as a Mental Health Worker at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, where they assisted patients with daily activities and facilitated therapeutic groups. Krystina also worked as a Sales Associate at Urban Outfitters.

Krystina Jackson, MSW, obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut in 2016. Krystina then pursued further education and completed their Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the same university in 2020. Their focus during their MSW program included Policy Practice, Social Policy, and International Social Work. In December 2019, they also obtained a Human Rights Certificate from the University of Connecticut.
