Keir Whitlock

Keir Whitlock has extensive work experience in the field of DevOps and infrastructure engineering. Keir is currently serving as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Ground Control, starting in November 2022. Prior to this, they held the same role at Flylogix from March 2022 to November 2022. From December 2020 to January 2022, Keir worked as an Infrastructure Engineer at Wagestream, where they contributed to improving the financial wellbeing of people in work. Before that, they served as a DevOps Engineer at Kingfisher plc from December 2019 to December 2020. Keir also has experience working as a Contract DevOps Operative at an unnamed company from April 2016 to December 2019. Keir was the Lead System Administrator at Jobsite from December 2010 to December 2019. Keir's earlier career includes roles such as a Technical Account Manager and Data Centre Engineer/Lead at PEER 1 Hosting, a Linux Administrator at Jobsite, and an IT Support role at Specsavers and Eastleigh College. Throughout their career, Keir has gained expertise in various aspects of IT support, Linux administration, and managing infrastructure projects.

Keir Whitlock's education history begins with attending Woodlands Community School from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained their GCSEs. Following that, they attended Itchen College from 1998 to 2001, where they completed their A-Levels in Chemistry and Electronics.

In 2001, Keir enrolled at the University of Portsmouth and pursued a degree in Computer Engineering, which they completed in 2004 with a Bachelor of Engineering (honors) degree. Afterward, from 2004 to 2005, they continued their education at the University of Portsmouth and obtained a Master of Science degree in Communication Network Planning and Management.

In addition to their formal education, Keir Whitlock has acquired various certifications over the years. Notable certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, obtained from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2022, and Certified Kubernetes Administrator, obtained from The Linux Foundation in March 2022. Other certifications include Amazon Web Services DevOps Engineer - Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT), Red Hat Enterprise Security: Network Services (Certificate of Expertise), Fire Awareness and Extinguisher Usage, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), and Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT), all obtained within different years ranging from 2006 to 2022.
