Andrea MacMillan, CHRL has a diverse background in human resources, with experience in various companies and industries. Andrea began their career in 2007 as a Human Resource Summer Student at Sanofi Pasteur. In 2010, they worked as a Human Resource Associate at Nova Scotia Community College, where they focused on fair hiring practices for instructor positions. From 2011 to 2012, Andrea worked as a Recruitment Specialist at Eagle Professional Resources, specializing in recruiting IT professionals in various industries. In 2012, they joined Inventa as a Recruiter & HR Coordinator, responsible for full-cycle recruitment for experiential marketing campaigns. Andrea then moved on to Edelman, where they held the roles of Senior Human Resources Coordinator and Manager, Human Resources, Eastern Canada. During their time at Edelman, they managed HR operations, policies, programs, and projects across multiple offices. Currently, Andrea is working at GroupBy Inc. as an HR Business Partner and recently transitioned to the role of HR Director in 2022. Andrea MacMillan, CHRL, has a diverse education history. Andrea started their academic journey at Dalhousie University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from 2004 to 2009. After completing their undergraduate studies, they decided to further specialize in Human Resource Management. In 2009, Andrea enrolled at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), where they earned an Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management, which they completed in 2010.
To enhance their knowledge and skills in the field, Andrea also undertook additional Human Resources courses at Seneca College in 2015. These courses allowed their to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of Human Resources.
To bolster their professional credentials, Andrea obtained two certifications from the HRPA (Human Resources Professionals Association). In December 2015, they earned the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation. Later, in October 2018, they achieved the Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation, further solidifying their expertise in the field.
