Sarim Ali

Sarim Ali has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the field of technology. Sarim is currently working as a Site Reliability Engineering Manager at GroupBy Inc. In this role, they manage a SRE team, hires and nurtures team members, and introduces SRE principles to senior management.

Prior to this, Sarim worked as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Loblaw Companies Limited. Here, they collaborated with internal teams to deliver SRE initiatives, including the delivery of Cloud Function and Kubernetes applications. Sarim also set SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for all released applications and drove the conversation on observability.

Before joining Loblaw, Sarim served as a DevOps Lead at VerticalScope Inc. Sarim'sresponsibilities included leading DevOps practices within the company.

Sarim also has experience at FanXchange, where they worked as a Lead DevOps Engineer and DevOps Engineer. At this company, they played a key role in implementing DevOps strategies and practices.

Sarim's work history also includes roles as a DevOps Engineer at shomi™, a System Administrator at Eyereturn, a Robotics Instructor & System Administrator at The THINNOX Academy, a Mobile Audio-Product Expert at Future Shop, and a System Administrator/IT support at NAMF.

With a strong background in site reliability engineering, DevOps, and system administration, Sarim brings a wealth of experience and expertise to their current role.

Sarim Ali completed their education at Ryerson University from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Prior to that, they attended Notre Dame Secondary School from 2006 to 2009 and earned their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). In addition to their formal education, Sarim Ali has obtained various certifications from Pearson VUE, including VMware Certified Associate in Cloud, Data Center Virtualization, and Workforce Mobility.
