Jean-Yves Forel has been head of Retail Banking Europe and Paris 2024 Project since October 15, 2018.
After graduating from IEP Grenoble and obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Jean-Yves Forel began his career in 1983 at Banque Populaire des Alpes. After a period working in retail banking, he was appointed Head of Operations in 1992, then General Manager in 1995. In 1997, he subsequently joined Banque Populaire Bretagne-Atlantique as General Manager in charge of Business Development and responsible for managing the business line subsidiaries.
In 2000, he was appointed Head of Business Development for Banque Fédérale des Banques Populaires and, in 2001, became a member of the General Management Committee. He then joined Natexis Banques Populaires in 2003, where he was appointed member of the General Management Committee and Head of Banking, Financial and Technological Services. In November 2006, he became a member of Natixis’ Executive Management Committee and Head of its Specialized Financial Services division. In December 2012, Jean-Yves Forel became a member of BPCE’s Management Board, serving as Chief Executive Officer responsible for Retail Banking & Insurance. From 2016, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer in charge of Information Systems and Transformation and Operational Excellence.
