Jiri Ponrt

Jiri Ponrt has joined Groupon from Pale Fire Capital, Groupon’s largest shareholder, where he served as a Partner CFO. Prior to Pale Fire, Jiri served as CFO at Alza.cz, one of the largest e-commerce players in Central and Eastern Europe, where he helped grow the business to an annual turnover of $2 billion. In addition, he spent 15 years at Danone/Nutricia, where he gained extensive experience both in a variety of financial and commercial roles. Jiri has a proven track record as Finance Director, Sales Director, and Trade & Category Manager where he managed multi channel businesses in E-commerce, fast-moving consumer goods, Pharmaceuticals and services.

Outside of work, Jiri enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children. Together they enjoy traveling and a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking and downhill skiing.
