Derek JG Williams is an accomplished author and academic editor with a diverse background in writing and education. Currently serving as an author at Lightscatter Press, Williams's work, *Reading Water*, won the 2023 Lightscatter Press Prize. In addition to authorship, Williams holds positions as an academic editor at Harvard University and the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory, contributing to various projects, including the Oxford Handbook of Global Animal Law. Williams has ample teaching experience, having worked as a writing instructor at GrubStreet and previously at Writers.com, and served as a lecturer at Ohio University. Educational achievements include a PhD in English Language and Literature from Ohio University, an MFA in Creative Writing from UMass Boston, and a Bachelor's degree from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
