Michael Willig

Michael Willig is a seasoned data scientist and coordinator of the analytics team at GS1 Nederland since May 2019. Prior to this role, Michael was a PhD student at the University of Münster from October 2014 to April 2019, earning a summa cum laude PhD degree in mineralogy with a focus on utilizing Ce isotopes to understand mantle recycling processes. Michael's educational background includes a Master's degree in Solid Earth with a specialization in Petrology and a Bachelor's degree in Earth Science, both obtained from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Additionally, Michael has diverse experience, including serving as treasurer for the Earth Science Career Event foundation and as a coach for high school mathematics. Other roles include information gatherer for Mattmo concept | design and a volunteer at the Utah Museum of Natural History. Early career experiences include working as a runner/operator for Waternet.
