Derek Distenfield

Derek Distenfield, MBA, is an experienced business leader currently serving as Managing Director at FG Ventures, where a focus is placed on helping founders build strong companies from inception to IPO. As a Co-founder of GSD Venture Studios, Derek invests globally in resilient entrepreneurial teams. In addition, Derek is the President of Digital Ignition, a growth-focused launch pad for businesses. Previously, Derek held the position of CEO at Cult Following, where Derek developed innovative growth strategies, and Chief Operating Officer at 360 Payments, achieving significant revenue growth. Derek also contributed to the nonprofit sector as Director of Growth & Community Engagement at Bunker Labs, supporting military veteran entrepreneurs. Derek's career began in the US Army, serving as an Information Technology Officer with three combat deployments. Derek holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor's degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
