Peter Newell

Peter Newell has a diverse work experience, primarily in the engineering and development sectors. Peter is currently working as the Engineering Director at Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority since October 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Sr. Water Resource Engineer in the same organization from August to November 2021.

Peter also worked at HDR for a significant period, starting as a Project Manager in May 2007 and continuing in that role until August 2021.

Before joining HDR, they worked at Food for the Hungry, where they served as the Phoenix Partnership Coordinator from January 2004 to December 2005.

Their earliest work experience was with Food for the Hungry as a Development worker in Bolivia. From August 2000 to September 2003, Peter coordinated community development projects focused on water and sanitation, infrastructure, agriculture, health, and church development programs. Peter also played a crucial role in mobilizing and training rural village water committees for managing irrigation and potable water facilities.

Peter Newell completed their undergraduate studies at Wheaton College from 1992 to 1996, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. Peter then pursued further education at Arizona State University from 2005 to 2007, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering. Peter Newell is also a certified Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona, which they obtained in June 2009. Additionally, they have a certification as a Professional Engineer from the State of Texas, but details regarding the month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
