Gary Birdwell

Gary Birdwell serves as the President of the Board of Directors for GVEC, where responsibilities include representing District 9 within a service area covering 13 counties and over 100,000 customers. Gary is also a Risk Advisor at GBMB Insurance Agency, providing comprehensive insurance solutions throughout Texas. Previous roles include Senior Vice President of Service & Operations at SWBC, where management of account service operations for group benefits was key, as well as various leadership positions at Christ Episcopal Church, Benefit Planners, and USAA, with extensive experience in health insurance operations. Gary holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of the Incarnate Word and a BBA in Human Resource Management from Stephen F. Austin State University, complemented by military training as an Ordnance Officer in the U.S. Army.
