Jennifer Barber has extensive work experience in the field of Respiratory Care. Jennifer began their career in 2008 as an NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist at HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital, where they acted as a senior level technical resource and provided care for patients in assigned areas. In 2011, Jennifer transitioned to Gulf Coast State College, initially working as an Adjunct Respiratory Care Program Instructor. In this role, they taught various respiratory care courses and participated in the assessment and improvement of academic courses. Jennifer later served as the Director of Clinical Education in the Department of Respiratory Care, overseeing the clinical experiences of students and contributing to the program's development and evaluation. Most recently, Jennifer became the Program Director of the Respiratory Care Program at Gulf Coast State College, where they direct the ongoing study, evaluation, and revision of all aspects of the program's clinical education experience, provides leadership and planning, and collaborates with faculty and field experience providers.
Jennifer Barber holds a Bachelor's Degree in Science Respiratory Care from Midwestern State University, which they completed in 2016. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate's Degree in Science Respiratory Care from Tallahassee Community College in 2004. Currently, Jennifer is pursuing a Master's of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University, starting in 2019. In addition to their degrees, Jennifer also holds various certifications, including ACLS Instructor, BLS Instructor, NBRC Adult Critical Care Respiratory Therapist, NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist, NRP Instructor, PALS Instructor, and State of Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist.
