Thomas Smith

Thomas Smith has extensive experience in the commodities industry, with a focus on finance and analytics. Thomas currently serves as the Regional CFO Americas at Gunvor Group Ltd, a position they have held since October 2022. Prior to this, they were the Head of Treasury and Structured Trade Finance, North America at the same company from October 2020 to October 2022.

Before joining Gunvor Group Ltd, Thomas was with Castleton Commodities International for a significant portion of their career. Thomas held various roles at Castleton, including Vice President, Capital Analytics Manager from September 2014 to October 2020, Associate Director, Sr. Credit Analyst from March 2014 to September 2014, and Associate, Credit Analyst from October 2006 to March 2014.

Thomas began their career as an intern at Louis Dreyfus Commodities in June 2006, where they focused on credit analysis.

Thomas Smith obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Fairfield University from 2002 to 2006. Thomas then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance at the University of Connecticut School of Business from 2008 to 2013. In April 2011, Thomas also obtained a Credit Risk Management Certification from the IECA International Energy Credit Association.
