Michel Jaczynski

Senior Director of Cloud and Platform R&D at Gurobi Optimization

Michel Jaczynski has had a long and varied career in software development, beginning in 1995 as a Project Engineer for Aerospatiale. In 1996, they became a Researcher and Ph.D. Student at INRIA, where they proposed a new flexible approach to handle time-phased data within the Case-Based Reasoning paradigm. From 1999 to 2009, they worked at ILOG, first as a Senior Manager of Software Development, then as a Principal Architect, and finally as a Staff Software Developer. In 2009, they joined IBM as a Principal Software Architect for Cloud, where they were the architect of the control service and REST API of IBM Decision Optimization on Cloud. In 2016, they became the Senior Director of Cloud and Platform R&D at Gurobi Optimization, where they currently manage a team of software developers and DevOps specialists.

Michel Jaczynski received their First University Degree (DEUG) in Mathematics and Physics from Universit\u00e9 C\u00f4te d'Azur in 1988-1990. Michel then went on to earn their Software Engineer degree from Ecole Sup\u00e9rieure en Sciences Informatiques (ESSI) in 1990-1993. In 1992-1993, they obtained their Master's degree in Computer Science from Universit\u00e9 C\u00f4te d'Azur. Finally, they completed their Ph. D. in Computer Science from Universit\u00e9 C\u00f4te d'Azur in 1993-1998.
