Velma de la Rosa

Velma de la Rosa is an experienced professional with a diverse background in nonprofit organizations and affordable housing. Velma is currently the Vice President of Housing Development at Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, where they are leading efforts to increase home-ownership opportunities for working families. Prior to this, Velma was the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of The Monarca Enterprises, where they provided services to enhance organizational effectiveness and drive growth for client organizations. Velma has also served as the Executive Director of The Dominguez Dream in Memory of H. Frank Dominguez and the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Hearthstone Housing Foundation. Velma's career includes roles as the Executive Director and Senior Vice President at TELACU EDUCATION FOUNDATION, Vice President of Global Community Programs at Citi, and Assistant Director of Real Estate Development at New Economics for Women. Velma began their career at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, where they held various positions in purchasing, real estate, and records management. Velma's expertise lies in strategic planning, program development and evaluation, fund development, marketing, and branding. Throughout their career, they have positively impacted the lives of underserved communities, first-generation students, low-income families, and small business owners.

Velma de la Rosa completed their Bachelor of Science in Management at Pepperdine Graziadio Business School in 2009. Velma then attended the USC Marshall School of Business in 2000, where they completed the USC Ross Minority Program in Real Estate. Additionally, in the same year, they obtained an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies and a Certificate of Completion in Real Estate from Los Angeles Trade Technical College. In 2020, they participated in the Multicultural Women Executive Leadership Program at USC Marshall School of Business.
