Corey Black

Director Of Quality & Manufacturing Engineering at Hadrian

Corey Black has a diverse work experience, starting in 2007 as a Mac Specialist at Apple Inc. After that, they worked as a Research Assistant in Astronomy at the Center for High Angular Resolution Astronomy and the Georgia Institute of Technology Observatory. In 2009, Corey was a Photography Assistant at Zamana Lifestyles Photography. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Manufacturing Engineer at GE Power & Water, managing the production of NPI blades and introducing new machining and metrology technology. Corey then joined SpaceX in 2014, where they held multiple roles including Manufacturing Engineer II, Lean Facilitator / Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt, Operations Engineer II / LSS Black Belt, Supervisor - Machining Operations, and Manager - Machining Operations (Raptor Machining). During their time at SpaceX, they made significant contributions to increasing production rate, cost efficiency, and quality of components for the Raptor engine. Corey Black is currently working at Hadrian as the Head of Quality & NPI, responsible for managing new product introduction and quality control.

Corey Black attended the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. After completing their degree, in June 2011, Corey obtained the Engineer In-Training certification from the Georgia Secretary of State Professional Licensing Division.

In November 2013, Corey obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from GE. Following this, in April 2016, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification specifically from SpaceX.

Most recently, in July 2018, Corey obtained the ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt certification from ASQ - World Headquarters.
