Joan Thomas

Joan Thomas, CFRE, currently serves as the Director of Development at Hagley Museum and Library since February 2023. Prior to this role, Joan facilitated initiatives at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden from December 2022 to July 2023 and held the position of Director of External Relations at American Public Gardens Association from June 2016 to December 2022. Joan's extensive experience in philanthropy includes directing development efforts at Bok Tower Gardens from 2009 to 2016, serving as Campaign Coordinator at Wingate University for a year in 2008, and leading development at Charlotte Symphony and Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra from 2007 to 2008 and 1998 to 2007, respectively. Joan holds a Master's degree in Business from Wisconsin School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from St. Olaf College.
