Roeland Baan

Roeland Baan is an experienced executive with a substantial background in leadership roles across various industries. Currently serving as Non Executive Director at Syensqo since December 2023, President and CEO of Topsoe since June 2020, and Chairman of the Supervisory Board at SBM Offshore since April 2020, Baan has previously held significant positions such as President and CEO of Outokumpu from January 2016 to June 2020, and CEO of Aleris from April 2008 to December 2015. Additional experience includes executive roles at ArcelorMittal and Mittal Steel, as well as EVP at SHV Gas. Baan began a diverse career at Shell, where various roles were undertaken from September 1980 to October 1996. Baan holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
