Chris Vinel

Chris Vinel is an accomplished sports journalist with extensive experience in reporting, editing, and broadcasting across various platforms. Currently serving as a Sports Reporter for the Daytona Beach News-Journal since May 2022, Chris produces multiple stories weekly covering high school, college sports, and local teams while engaging with the community through social media. Previously, Chris held the position of Sports Editor at The Sheridan Press, where responsibilities included managing coverage for multiple local sports teams and overseeing a team of reporters and photographers. Additional roles include broadcasting for WMSR Redhawk Radio, where live commentary was provided, and serving as the Editor in Chief at The Miami Student, where Chris significantly grew the staff and led various initiatives. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, Sports Leadership, and Management from Miami University.
