Odhrán Downey

Odhran O'Donoghue is an accomplished researcher and engineer with a strong background in data science and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as a Contract Researcher at OpenAI since January 2024, Odhran previously worked as a Research Team Lead at The Francis Crick Institute, where a project on Large Language Models was accepted to EMNLP 2023. In a prior role at Valar Labs, Odhran contributed as a Computer Vision Engineer and Clinical Lead, focusing on AI-based cancer diagnostics. Experience also includes consulting at the Boston Consulting Group and investment analysis at Notion Capital. With leadership roles at both the Oxford Artificial Intelligence Society and Included VC, as well as co-founding SkillsTree, Odhran has made significant contributions to the AI and technology sectors. Odhran holds a PhD in Data Science and a BA in Medical Sciences from the University of Oxford.
