Vada A. Stephens II has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as the Director of Outreach and Communications in the Office of Hamilton County Commission President Alicia Reece. Prior to this, they worked as a White House Communications Intern at The White House and as a Congressional Intern at both the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and the U.S. House of Representatives. Vada A. also gained experience as a Legislative Intern in the Office of US Senator Jeff Merkley and as a Biden Campaign Fellow for the Biden for President campaign. Additionally, Vada has held various positions at Miami University, including Associated Student Government Secretary for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Resident Assistant, Lobbying Intern, and participant in the FSB Accounting Camp. Vada A. has also interned at Strauss Troy and Rocket Mortgage, where they gained experience in communications, facilities, legal compliance, and mortgage banking. Finally, they participated in an Advocacy Campaign Training for Ohio Civic Leaders conducted by the Congressional Black Caucus Institute.
Vada A. Stephens II attended Miami University from 2018 to 2022, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance. Prior to that, they attended Princeton High School from 2014 to 2018.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Vada has also obtained various certifications, including Truist Emerging Leaders Certification from the Truist Leadership Institute in July 2022, MMBA Certificate from the Miami University Farmer School of Business in January 2021, and the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test - National Component with Uniform State Content from Rocket Mortgage in January 2021.
