Sergio Hernández Cano has extensive work experience in the engineering field. Sergio started their career at Schneider Electric as a Services Technician in 2006. Later, they joined Siemens Energy in 2006 and worked as a Large Power Transformers Test Engineer until 2011. In this role, they were responsible for conducting electrical, thermal, and operational tests for power transformers. Sergio also coordinated and performed various insulating oil tests. From 2011 to 2013, Sergio worked as an Electrical Designer at Siemens Energy, where they were responsible for designing medium and large power transformers according to national and international standards. Sergio selected the appropriate components such as bushings and tap changers based on customer specifications. Since 2013, Sergio has been working at Hammond Power Solutions. Sergio has held several roles, including Test Department Manager and North American Test Engineering Manager. Currently, they are the Corporate Test Engineering Manager, responsible for overseeing the test department procedures and related equipment for all HPS facilities in North America.
Sergio Hernández Cano attended the Universidad de Guanajuato from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a degree in Ingeniero Electricista (Electrical Engineer) with a specialization in Sistemas Eléctricos de Potencia (Power Systems). During the same period, they also attended FIMEE, where they studied Transformers and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering.
