Raj Saroop

Raj Saroop has over 30 years of experience in various human resources and leadership roles. Raj started their career at Safeway Canada in 1989, where they worked as a Retail Manager and Corporate Trainer for over 13 years. Raj then joined Best Buy Canada in 2003, working as a Retail Manager, Sr. Retail Learning Leader, and Human Resources Manager - Corporate. In 2018, they joined J.D. Irving, Limited as a Talent Manager and Career Coach before transitioning to the role of Director of Leadership Development & Emerging Talent. In 2019, they moved to Midland Transport as Vice President of Human Resources. Currently, they are Vice President of Human Resources at Hard Rock International.

Raj Saroop has a diverse education history. From 2012 to 2014, they attended Simon Fraser University and studied Human Resources Management. Raj also obtained a Diploma - Honours in E-Commerce / Business Management from Sprott Shaw College from 1998 to 2000. In 1998, they received a Certificate in Frontline Leadership from Zenger Miller / Achieve Global Inc. From 1990 to 1992, they pursued Commerce / Business Administration at The University of British Columbia. Raj Saroop has also obtained several additional certifications, including Prosci certified - change management from Prosci in 2019, Korn Ferry - Executive Leadership Potential from Korn Ferry, Korn Ferry - Via Edge Learning Agility from Korn Ferry, and PI - Behavioural Assessment Practitioner from The Predictive Index.
