Joel Censer has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Joel currently serves as the Chief Pathing Officer at Harlem Lacrosse, where they lead the admissions program and has successfully helped over 135 public school students gain admission to independent boarding schools and colleges with scholarship offers totaling $35 million. Prior to this role, Joel was the Chief Program Officer at Harlem Lacrosse, where they played a crucial role in scaling the organization as a founding member of the leadership team. Joel also held the position of Director of Advancement at Harlem Lacrosse.
Before joining Harlem Lacrosse, Joel worked at George Mason University as a Government Liaison and Associate Researcher. In these roles, they conducted research, managed the university's website and social media platforms, and wrote grants and proposals to support funded research. At US Lacrosse, Joel worked as a Freelance Reporter and Videographer, contributing content to Lacrosse Magazine and generating video content for the Washington Post.
Joel's early career included a role as a Field Organizer for Obama for America, where they managed field operations and developed a strong volunteer network for the campaign. Joel also gained experience as an intern at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
Joel Censer pursued their undergraduate studies at Haverford College from 2004 to 2008, completing a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on History. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in the Developing Leaders Program for Nonprofit Professionals from Columbia Business School Executive Education in March 2017.
