Danielle Strauss has extensive experience in the social service sector, spanning over 20 years. Danielle began their career as an HIV/AIDS Educator with the Ministry of Health in Malawi, where they coordinated care and prevention activities. Danielle then worked as a Project Assistant and Consultant with Save the Children US, where they developed and replicated community-based orphan and HIV care and prevention programs in Malawi and Mozambique.
In 1999, Danielle joined VIP Community Services as the Director of HIV Prevention, managing multiple community-based programs for African American and Latino substance users. Danielle later worked as a Management Consultant at Public Health Solutions, overseeing HIV prevention contracts and assisting agencies with program evaluation and compliance.
Danielle's experience also includes teaching as an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College School of Social Work, where they taught courses on social service program administration and research methods. Danielle then served as the Senior Director of Evaluation/Quality Assurance at The Fortune Society, implementing quality assurance policies and conducting program evaluations.
Lastly, Danielle is currently working at Harlem United as the Managing Director of NYNY III/FHNS/Housing Retention/Residence Management. Their responsibilities include administering supportive housing programs for individuals living with HIV/AIDS and histories of homelessness, overseeing budget management, program development and evaluation, continuous quality improvement, and staff supervision. Danielle also chairs several agency committees related to housing policy, analysis of housing quality, and wellness.

Danielle Strauss has a Bachelor's degree in English (Literature & Rhetoric) with a minor in Health & Human Services from Binghamton University, State University of New York. Danielle then pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH), specializing in Health Behavior and Health Education, at The University of North Carolina, School of Public Health. Later, they attended The Graduate Center, City University of New York, where they worked towards a doctoral degree in Social Welfare.
