Del Afonso has worked in the food industry since 2006, when they were appointed Chief Executive Officer of Edetec Food Industry. In 2010, they founded and became the Chief Executive Officer of INVITA, which was ranked 2nd place in the national ranking of fastest growing SME companies (Deloitte, 2015). In 2018, they founded Harmony Baby Nutrition, an MIT-based startup applying biotechnology to mimic the composition of human breast milk to create the next generation of infant formulas.
Del Afonso has an extensive education history. Del obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in 2002-2003, followed by a Master's Degree in Food Science from the same university in 2007-2009. In 2008-2010, they pursued a Post-graduation in Business Administration, Management and Operations at PUC Minas. Del Afonso also completed an online Technology Entrepreneurship Course at Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 2012. Finally, in 2017-2018, they obtained a Master of Business Administration from MIT Sloan School of Management, with a focus in Business Administration and Management, General.
