Jacob Balcanoff

Jacob Balcanoff is an experienced brewer currently working at Mass. Bay Brewing Company, Inc., specializing in production and pilot brewing operations. Previously, Jacob worked at Whalers Brewing Company from September 2017 to October 2023 in various roles including Brewer, Research and Development, Cellarman, and Assistant Brewer, alongside bartending and doorman duties. Jacob’s background also includes significant experience in research and educational outreach, having served as a Research Assistant at the University of Rhode Island, an Educational Outreach Scientist with the Office of Marine Programs, and a Science Intern with Ocean Exploration Trust. Jacob holds a Master's Degree in Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor's Degree in Geology/Earth Science with a minor in Information and Technology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
