Gregory Kunkel

Gregory Kunkel currently serves as a Licensed Paramedic at Harris County ESD 48 Fire Department since August 2023. Formerly, Kunkel held the position of Assistant Fire Chief at League City Fire Department from August 2022 to August 2023 and served as Assistant Fire Chief - EMS for the City of League City from February 2020 to August 2023. Additionally, Kunkel was a Shift Supervisor and Medical Supervisor for the City of League City, Texas, from July 2006 to February 2020. Kunkel has significant experience in emergency medical services, having worked as the Director of EMS at Galveston County Health District between April 1984 and July 2006. Kunkel holds a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Health Sciences from UT Health San Antonio, completed Fire Science/Fire-fighting courses from Fire in Texas, and earned an Associate's Degree in Social Sciences from San Jacinto College.
