Rick Basehore

Rick Basehore is a highly accomplished oboist with extensive experience in various orchestras and ensembles. Currently serving as the Principal Oboist with the Reading Symphony Orchestra since November 2023, Basehore also holds positions as English Horn / Oboe III with both the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, Basehore has been the Principal Oboist for the Allentown Symphony Orchestra since July 2014, and serves as Second Oboist / English Horn with the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. Other notable engagements include leading as Principal Oboist at Sarasota Opera and previously at Fairfax Symphony Orchestra. Basehore's experience includes a significant tenure with the United States Marine Band as Co-Principal Oboist and an Oboe Fellowship with the New World Symphony. Educational credentials include a Master of Music in Oboe Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance from the Eastman School of Music.
