Candan Akkan

Candan Akkan has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Candan started their career in the education sector as a Drama Teacher at Etiler İdeal Primary School and İstasyon Sanat Merkezi. Candan then transitioned to the performing arts industry and worked as an Actress at Istanbul State Opera and Ballet.

In 1995, Candan moved into the corporate world and joined Koç Holding A.Ş. as a Training Supervisor at Migros. Candan later became an Assistant to the General Manager at Birmot-Tofaş and then a Human Resources & Training Manager at the same company. In this role, they focused on structuring HR functions, succession planning, and talent development using tools like the 9 Box.

Candan then joined Adecco Türkiye as an Executive Search & Selection Consultant, providing consulting services in executive search. Candan later transitioned to a career in HR consultancy and worked as a Lee Hecht Harrison Consultant at Adecco Türkiye.

In 2007, Candan joined Vaillant Group Türkiye as an HR Director. Their main responsibility was to manage the HR aspects of the merge and acquisition between Vaillant and Demirdöküm companies. Candan played a key role in building the learning, cultural, and talent bridge between the two companies.

From 2006 to 2022, Candan worked as a Career Consultant at E&E Group Career Consultants and Lee Hecht Harrison. Candan provided career transition and outplacement services, leadership development, employee engagement, and change management solutions for organizations.

Most recently, Candan has been working at Harrison Assessments Int'l as a Solutions Partner, Trainer, and Consultant. Candan is also the founder of SinerjİK Eğitim ve Danışmanlık, which focuses on human resources consulting and training.

Candan Akkan has a diverse education history. In 1994, they obtained a Licence and Master's degree in Human Resources Development from Istanbul University, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Prior to that, they attended Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts from 1990 to 1994, earning a BA, 1st degree in Directing and Theatrical Production, Acting, and NLP. Candan also attended Yükselis High School from 1983 to 1990, focusing on English.

In 2020, Candan began pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Sociology at Istanbul University, which they are expected to complete in 2024. Additionally, in 1989, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts.

Candan Akkan has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. Some of these certifications include the Harrison Assessments Recruitment Certification from Harrison Assessments Int'l in May 2021, the 14th Istanbul Bilim Kongresi from the Turkish Bilisim Dernegi Istanbul Subesi in December 2020, and the Harrison Recruitment Certification from Harrison Assessments Int'l in September 2018. Candan has also received certifications in various areas such as train the trainer for certified Harrison Debriefer, whole life profile, recruitment and employee development accreditation, assessor for assessment and development solutions, career coaching and outplacement, competency-based human resources management, debriefing and coaching accreditation, employee development accreditation, and TQM Inside Auditor.
