Junran Cao

Junran Cao is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in machine learning, economic modeling, and data analysis. Currently serving as a Genomic Data Scientist at Hartwig Medical Foundation, Junran previously held the role of Senior Data Scientist at Optiver, focusing on new model prototyping and stakeholder presentations. Prior experience includes positions as a Senior Economics Consultant & Data Scientist at FTI Consulting, where significant projects included electricity demand modeling and corporate debt structuring, and as an Economist at the Australian Taxation Office, where Junran contributed to econometric modeling and the implementation of randomized controlled trials. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Economics from The University of Western Australia and a Master’s degree from the University of Sydney.
