Joseph McCombs

Joseph McCombs is an experienced editorial manager and freelance copy editor with a diverse background in the publishing and media industries. Currently serving as Editorial Manager at Havas since May 2020, McCombs oversees senior editorial functions for the Havas SF creative agency. As the sole proprietor of Instant Comma Services since July 2013, McCombs has provided copyediting and proofreading services for reputable clients, including Out magazine, Time Books, and notable authors. Previous experience includes a tenure as a copy editor at Time Magazine, where responsibilities involved editing various magazine sections and ensuring adherence to style guides. McCombs also held roles at The Village Voice, contributing to and overseeing editorial content, and has freelance experience writing about music and pop culture. An alumnus of Allegheny College, McCombs earned a B.A. in psychology.
