Tamer Mamkej

Tamer Mamkej has a diverse work experience in the field of technology. Tamer has served as a Director of Technology at the Hawthorne Board of Education since November 2021 and previously worked as a Network Administrator for the same organization from June 2018 to November 2021. In their role as a Network Administrator, Tamer collaborated with school administrators and the technology department to design, implement, and manage technology systems.

Prior to their role at Hawthorne Board of Education, Tamer worked as a Site Administrator at the Northern Regional Educational Services Commission from June 2016 to June 2018. Tamer managed the network and systems for a 6 location school district, including overseeing help desk tickets and managing level 1 technicians.

Tamer also has experience as a Co-Owner of Gear Studios Inc., a multimedia company that caters to individuals and small to mid-size businesses. Tamer was responsible for leveraging their sound and computer technology skills to provide multimedia solutions.

Additionally, Tamer worked as a Computer Support Specialist at Bergen County Technical Schools from June 2014 to June 2016, where they played a key role in overseeing client needs within the shared services division. Tamer also served as a Computer Technician at Hawthorne Board of Education from October 2013 to June 2014, where they repaired computers, managed the data network, and gained exposure to routing and layer 3 switching technologies.

In their earlier career, Tamer worked as an Assistant Network Administrator at Manchester Regional High School from July 2007 to October 2013, where they managed the technology network and implemented new technologies based on the school's needs. Tamer also gained valuable experience as a Technology Intern at the Passaic County Sheriff's Department in June 2011, where they provided technical support, assisted network administrators, and contributed to large-scale projects in a high-security environment.

Tamer Mamkej earned a Master of Science degree in Educational/Instructional Technology from Ramapo College of New Jersey from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from William Paterson University of New Jersey, attending from 2009 to 2015. Tamer also completed their high school education at Manchester Regional High School from 2004 to 2008. Tamer holds a certification in CMNO from Cisco Meraki.
