Mike Yawn has over 35 years of work experience in multiple roles and companies. Mike started their career as a Systems Engineer at Hewlett-Packard Co. in 1983, providing pre-sales and post-sales consulting services. Mike later worked as a Senior Consultant, assisting with migration, porting, and consulting projects. In 1996, they became a Java Architect at HP, where they ported the Java Virtual Machine to the HP 3000 platform and developed open-source class libraries. After leaving HP in 2005, they joined EMC as a Senior Consultant, providing implementation assistance for Documentum Content Management software. From 2007 to 2010, they worked at eBay as a Staff Software Engineer, developing a plug-in to generate Data Access Layer code. Mike then joined Oracle Corporation in 2010 as a Principal Member of Technical Staff, responsible for the JDeveloper debugger. Currently, they are working at Hazelcast as a Senior Solutions Architect since 2018.
Mike Yawn attended Georgia State University from 1979 to 1988, where they earned a BBA degree in Management. In July 2020, they obtained the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
