Shane Sweeney

Shane Sweeney, M.D., currently serves as the Medical Director of Pathology at HCA Healthcare since September 2024 and as Laboratory Director at Impact Diagnostic Lab & Health Services since July 2022. With experience as a pathologist at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and as a physician at CSL Plasma, both from July 2023 to November 2024, Shane has also worked in various locum tenens roles including at Precision Pathology and Pathology Reference Laboratory. Prior experience includes serving as a pathologist at Brooke Army Medical Center and holding the title of Ancillary Clinics Medical Director and Assistant Professor of Pathology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Shane's military service spanned from 2011 to 2023 as an active-duty Major in the US Army, with training completed as an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Resident at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Shane holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Temple University - Lewis Katz School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Vincent College.
