Christoph W. Sensen

Christoph W. Sensen is a prominent figure in the field of molecular medicine and biotechnology, currently serving as the Director General and Chief Executive Officer at the Hungarian Centre of Excellence for Molecular Medicine since December 2020. Previously, Sensen held various significant academic positions at Graz University of Technology from September 2014 to September 2022, including Universitätsprofessor and Head of the Institute of Computational Biotechnology. Additionally, Sensen was the Chief Scientific Officer at CNA Diagnostics Inc. from July 2010 to November 2020 and served as a Full Professor at the University of Calgary's Faculty of Medicine from February 2001 to August 2014. Early career experience includes roles at the National Research Council Canada and EMBL, contributing to marine biosciences and yeast genome sequencing. Sensen earned a Dr. rer. nat. in Biology from the University of Cologne and holds degrees from the University of Düsseldorf and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
