Deborah Mpfurakazi

Deborah Kansiime is a dedicated professional currently serving as a Harm Reduction Officer and Research Associate at the Health Development Initiative since May 2022, where responsibilities include conducting literature reviews and participating in HC sector advocacy meetings. Kansiime also contributes as an Alumni at the U.S. Department of State and serves as a Volunteer Champion with VSO, engaging in community service initiatives. As a Mastercard Foundation Scholar from July 2020 to July 2024, Kansiime represents youth at forums focused on technology in education. Additionally, Kansiime is a Fellow in the Community Engagement Exchange Program with IREX and has experience as a Wikipedia editor with the Goethe-Institut e.V. Kansiime’s internship with the Georgia Harm Reduction Coalition involved outreach efforts in Woodstock and Atlanta, Georgia. Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Global Challenges from the African Leadership University, complemented by a foundational degree in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology from Ecole des Sciences Byimana.
