Edward Cabrera

Edward Cabrera, MD, MBA, FAAFP has a broad range of experience in healthcare leadership roles. Starting in 1994, they served as the Medical Director for the Florida Physicians Medical Group. After that, they worked as the Executive Director for the Plaines Health Network from 1996 to 1998. In 1995, they became the Chief Medical Officer and later the President/Chief Executive Officer of the American Medical HealthCare FL. From 1988 to 1999, Dr. Cabrera served as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of South Florida. Edward then joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida as the Regional Director of Network Management and Development. During their tenure, they led state and regional network management, successfully launching a Utilization Management Program and achieving significant cost savings. In 2002, Dr. Cabrera became the President and Chief Medical Officer of FLACS of TeamHealth Hospital Medicine, where they held a leadership role until 2017. Following that, they joined One Homecare Solutions as the Chief Clinical Strategy Officer from 2018 to 2019. Most recently, in 2022, they assumed the position of Chief Clinical Officer at Health Network One, where they oversee clinical initiatives and is responsible for millions of lives across multiple specialty networks. Throughout their career, Dr. Cabrera has demonstrated expertise in improving clinical outcomes, implementing quality improvement programs, and driving growth and strategic direction in healthcare organizations.

Edward Cabrera, MD, MBA, FAAFP completed their education with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Universidad Central del Este - UCE. Edward further pursued their medical training by completing a Family Medicine Residency Program at Western Reserve Care System. Later, they served as Chief Resident at Western Reserve Care System-Northside Medical Center in the field of Family Practice. In addition to their medical qualifications, Edward Cabrera also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Central Florida. Edward has obtained licensure as a Board Certified Physician Executive from the State of Florida.
