Emma Maddren

Emma Maddren currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Hospice since November 2023. With a wealth of experience, Emma has held the position of Director for Starship Medical and Community Services at Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand since October 2013, overseeing New Zealand’s only comprehensive children's hospital with a substantial budget and a large team. Prior to these roles, Emma worked as General Manager for the Starship Hospital/Child Health Directorate at Auckland District Health Board, and served as a Healthcare Consultant at Maddren Consulting Limited from April 2003 to October 2013. Earlier career positions included General Manager, Business Manager, and Team Manager at Burtons Healthcare Limited and Health Partners Limited from December 1995 to August 2002. Emma holds a Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Canterbury and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Massey University.
