Research Fellowship at Health Policy Research Scholars

Cheryl Aguilar is a dedicated professional in the field of behavioral health and social work, currently involved with the American Psychological Association as part of the Interdisciplinary Minority Fellowship Program and serving as a Research Fellow with the Health Policy Research Scholars program. As the Founder, Director, and Therapist at The Hope Center for Wellness, Cheryl has established a multicultural and multilingual practice focused on holistic healing for community members. Previous experience includes roles as a mental health therapist, consultant, and program coordinator aimed at supporting underrepresented groups, particularly within Latino and immigrant communities. Cheryl holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work from Smith College, along with a Master’s degree in Social Work from The Catholic University of America and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Media Studies from Rutgers University.
