Michael Newton

Michael Newton has a diverse range of work experience. Michael began their career as a Financial Planner at Intermountain Financial Group in 2007 before transitioning to a role as a Financial Representative at Fidelity Investments in 2008. In 2010, they served as a Judicial Extern for The Honorable David G. Bernthal, United States Magistrate Judge, and in 2011, they worked as a Summer Honors Intern at the US Securities and Exchange Commission. From 2012 to 2014, they served as an Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where they worked in the Capital Markets group and completed a rotation in the Financial Institutions Group. In 2014, they joined Dorsey & Whitney LLP as an Associate until 2019. During this time, they were also the Executive Secretary for the J. Reuben Clark Law Society from 2014 to 2019. Currently, they hold the position of VP - Associate General Counsel at HealthEquity, starting in 2019.

Michael Newton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Financial Services from Brigham Young University in 2007. Michael then pursued a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Illinois College of Law from 2009 to 2012.
