Tim Akkermans has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Tim currently holds the position of Vice President Customer Care at HealthLink Europe & International since September 2023. Previously, they worked at DHL Supply Chain in various roles, including Programme Lead customer excellence Benelux & Nordics, Head of Transport Development Benelux, Transport Development Lead Life Science and Healthcare Benelux, General Manager of a life science and healthcare campus, and Business Process Manager / Manager Customer Care. Before that, they worked at Norbert Dentressangle Nederland as a Manager Operations Support & Implementation, and at TNT as a Strategic Account Director and in Global Customer Solutions. Tim also had experience working at Exel as a Transport Programme Manager EMEA (Roadfreight), and at Ordina as a Consultant. Throughout their career, Tim has focused on customer care, transport strategy and execution, carrier procurement and management, innovation, sustainability, and shaping and coaching teams for customer excellence.

Tim Akkermans has a diverse education history. Tim began their academic journey at Maurick College, where they attended from 1986 to 1993. During this time, they studied Gymnasium.

After completing their secondary education, Tim enrolled at Eindhoven University of Technology in 1993 and studied Business Engineering until 1995. Following this, they attended Fontys University of Applied Sciences from 1995 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Industrial Management.

In 1998, Tim briefly attended Vaal University of Technology for a year. Here, they pursued studies in Industrieel Management / Industrial Engineering and Management.

Aside from their formal education, Tim has also acquired additional certifications to further enhance their professional skills. In 2016, they received a Green Belt Certification (GB) from DHL Supply Chain. Most recently, in November 2019, they became Scrum Master Certified (SMC) through APMG International.
