David Comiskey

David Comiskey has a diverse work experience in various industries. David started their career as an Operations Manager in the United States Department of Defense from an unknown start date to 2015. In 2015, they co-founded Barkly Pets, an online pet care marketplace, where they served as the Co-Founder and COO until 2020 when the company was acquired.

From 2020 to present, they have worked as an Independent Consultant, specializing in areas such as digital, eCommerce, marketplaces, and B2B SaaS. David assists clients in validating business opportunities, developing marketing strategies, and bringing products to market quickly.

In 2020, they also took on the role of Chief Operating Officer at HealthMe, a digital platform that serves Direct-Pay patients in medical practices. Moreover, they became a Partner at ROC Venture Group in 2021, a venture firm that invests in exceptional entrepreneurs with big ideas.

During their time at the Pet Care Innovation Prize from 2020 to 2023, they worked as an Entrepreneur in Residence, supporting and connecting early-stage companies in the pet care industry.

David Comiskey completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in East Asian Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics and Russian from the University of Florida between 2005 and 2008. David later pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Global Security Studies from The Johns Hopkins University from 2011 to 2013.
