Phil Brownjohn

Phil Brownjohn is a seasoned professional in the field of pharmacology, currently serving as Scientific Associate Director at Healx since August 2019, where responsibilities include accelerating the discovery and development of treatments for rare diseases using artificial intelligence. Prior to this role, Phil held positions as Principal Pharmacologist and Senior Scientist Pharmacologist at Healx. Phil's academic background includes a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the University of Cambridge from October 2014 to July 2019, focusing on iPSC-derived models of neurodegeneration for drug screening. Additionally, Phil was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Otago from August 2012 to March 2014, researching the mechanisms of neuroplasticity. Phil earned a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Otago in 2012, following a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in the same field in 2007.
