Marjolein Denekamp has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Marjolein currently serves as the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at Hearst Netherlands, where they are responsible for accelerating digital revenue and leading the Digital Strategy & Performance team. Prior to this, they held the position of Digital Strategy & Performance Director at Hearst Netherlands from 2018 to 2021.

Marjolein also worked at HearstLab as a HearstLab Scout, where they evaluated potential investments and advised early-stage, women-led startups on business and digital marketing strategy. Before joining HearstLab, Marjolein held the role of Digital Specialist & Content Marketing Strategist at Gruner + Jahr, where they developed digital content marketing strategies and trained internal teams in digital content marketing and data performance.

Marjolein has also worked as a Freelance & Interim Digital (Content Marketing) Manager and Digital Strategist for Conversation Wave, where they were involved in executing digital strategies, setting up content departments, and providing consultancy services. During this time, they worked with clients such as Otto Bock Benelux, Gruner und Jahr Media, and NBTC Holland Marketing.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a Digital Strategy & Conversation Manager at Lemon Scented Tea, an Account Manager & Social Specialist at Today is Canday, and a Project & Event Manager at Waterschap De Dommel. Additionally, they held positions at Stichting MIVA as an Online Marketing & Social Media Manager and at Helicon Opleidingen as a Guest teacher in Marketing & Communications and Leisure Management.

Marjolein Denekamp took a leave of absence in 2009 and spent time in Australia before resuming their career.

Marjolein Denekamp earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Leisure Studies, with a focus on Marketing & Communication, Event Management, Imagineering, Brand Management, English, and Spanish, from Breda University of Applied Sciences in 2005. In 2013, they attended Duke University for a specific field of study on Irrational Behavior. Later, in 2015-2016, they pursued a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing in a Digital World at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
