Hector Hernandez

Teaching Artist at Heart of Los Angeles

Hector Hernandez is a multi-faceted professional with extensive experience in arts education and engineering. Currently serving as a Teaching Artist at Heart of Los Angeles, Hector conducts after-school printmaking workshops in the Watts area. Additionally, as a Metrologist, certification of fixtures and provision of color maps reports have been achieved using Metrascan, Faro PMM systems, and Polyworks software for contractors. With a role as Assistant Manager at Hawthorne Arts Complex, responsibilities include overseeing daily operations and tenant relations. Hector has also worked as an Inspector and Engineer at Geoform, Inc., specializing in dimensional inspection for aerospace industries. Previous experience includes instructing printmaking workshops, coordinating a tutoring program at 826LA, and teaching art classes at Washington State University. Hector holds a Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking and Drawing from Washington State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Practice from the University of California, Berkeley.
