Conor Sutherland has a wealth of experience in the engineering and operations fields. Conor began their career in 2011 as a General Laborer at Foley Plumbers. In 2014, they took on the role of Engineer/Foreman at Fulton Hogan, where they were responsible for subcontractor organization, documentation, and safety assurance. In 2016, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Canterbury, where they designed and conducted finite element analysis of bio-medically intended screws made from magnesium alloys. In 2017, they began working at Colorado State University as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant. In 2019, they took on the role of Graduate Development Engineer at SCOTT. In 2020, they became the Head of Operations at HeartLab, where they also served as an Operations Manager and Research Engineer. Additionally, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Certified Design LTD, providing mechanical engineering expertise to an electric vehicle conversion project and completing CAD design of the vehicle and the configuration of the new EV assembly.
Conor Sutherland obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) with first class honors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury from 2013 to 2016. Conor also attended the University of Otago in 2013 for Engineering Science. In 2017, they began pursuing a Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University and completed the degree in 2019. Sutherland has also obtained several certifications, including Communication within Teams from LinkedIn in 2021, Chief Technology Officer Career Guide from LinkedIn in 2019, Entrepreneurship Foundations from LinkedIn in 2019, Project Management Foundations from LinkedIn in 2019, and a Driver's License from the NZ Transport Agency.
