Matt Prescott has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of sustainability and environmental conservation. Matt started their career in 1998 as an Assistant Editor at The Association of Commonwealth Universities before transitioning to the role of Senior Editor at RICS in 2000. At RICS, they were involved in publishing research on built environment sustainability and represented the organization in the Carbon Trust's 'Carbon Vision 2020' program.
In 2003, they joined the London Borough of Lambeth as an Environmental Projects Officer, where they worked on various projects related to environmental sustainability until 2005. In 2006, Matt became a Project Director at the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (The RSA). During their time there, they led a policy development project called Carbon Limited, which explored the concept of personal carbon allowances and involved collaborations with companies such as Atos Origin, BP, and Loyalty Management Group.
Matt's next venture was as the Director of Iken Associates, a role they assumed in 2009.
In 2017, they joined the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust as a Trustee, contributing to the protection and conservation of local wildlife in the two counties. Also in 2017, they took on the position of Interim Director at Heathrow Centre of Excellence for Sustainability, where they played a key role in the organization's sustainability efforts until January 2020. Subsequently, they became the Head of Carbon Strategy at Heathrow in February 2020.
Most recently, in 2022, Matt Prescott became the Chair of Wilder Carbon. This role allows him to further their expertise and contribute to environmental sustainability initiatives.
Matt Prescott obtained a Master's Degree in Environmental Science from UCL in 1997-1998. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Geography at the University of Leeds from 1994-1997. There is also a mention of a Bachelor's Degree in Geography from the University of Waterloo, although the dates are not provided.
