Mining Engineer In Training (eit) at Hecla Mining

Abigail Hourihan is a Mining Engineer in Training (EIT) at Hecla Mining Company since May 2022, following an Engineering Co-op Student role at Kirkland Lake Gold from August 2020 to July 2021. Previous experience includes working as a Technical Services Summer Student at Syncrude Canada Ltd. in 2019, where responsibilities involved staking designs and updating mine models. Abigail has also volunteered for Nova's Ark Charity from September 2013 to December 2018, accumulating 1500 hours while supporting individuals with varied abilities and maintaining farm and animal care. Additional roles include a cashier position at Vandermeer Nursery Ltd. in mid-2018, and Abigail holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining and Mineral Engineering from Queen's University (2017-2022) and is currently an International Exchange Student at The University of Western Australia.
