Jorge Cino has a diverse work experience in communications and journalism. Jorge started their career as a Web Editor and Writer intern at Tikkun Magazine in 2010. In 2011, Jorge joined Levi Strauss & Co., where they worked as a Communications Specialist and Grants Administrator for the Levi Strauss Foundation. During their time there, they developed profiles and impact stories, led a global communications campaign, and incorporated corporate social responsibility messages in recruitment and employee engagement events. In 2014, Jorge joined the Family Independence Initiative as a Senior Communications Associate, where they focused on developing digital assets, securing media coverage, and creating a story bank of low-income families. Currently, Jorge holds the position of Deputy Director of Journalism and Communications at the Heising-Simons Foundation, where they oversee communications and plays a role in advancing sustainable solutions in climate and clean energy.
Jorge Cino has a diverse education history. In 2004, they attended San Francisco State University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Studies and Screenwriting. Their undergraduate studies lasted for three years, and they completed them in 2007. Following this, in 2008, Cino enrolled in the University of San Francisco and pursued a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing. This program lasted for two years and concluded in 2010. To further enhance their skills, in 2015, Cino undertook a Certificate in Copyediting offered by UC San Diego Extended Studies, completing the program within a year. Overall, Cino's educational background showcases a combination of media studies, screenwriting, creative writing, and professional editing.
